FIVE- STEP RECIPE FOR MAXIMIZING YOUR POTENTIAL

Had a successful life coaching program with students at Shadrack Kimalel school this week. A student asked me a question; 'how can I maximize my potential?' This got me thinking........ What if I was a chef with a secret recipe? This would be it..........

a)       Get your priorities right
Human beings are the only creatures that can step out of themselves and reflect on their thoughts and actions animals can’t do that! Use this gift wisely. It is easy to get caught up in the rush of things and the call of our routine that we forget the imperative of being aware of everything that we are doing. The easiest way to get overwhelmed is to jump head first into a hip of activities without a proper order.
b)      There is only one you and you can’t be someone else.
Quit trying to be someone else. Be authentic. Be yourself. Sometimes we achieve our best when we stop worrying about how we are doing what we are doing and just doing it the best way we know how. Be creative with yourself and discover how amazing you can get.
c)       Once in a while throw in a wild card
Be unreasonable. Bank on hope and disregard logic. If they laugh at you, remember that critics have always laughed at visions of bold thinkers. They have been doing so since the days of Noah. Common is mediocre, uncommon is definitely going to trend. Like someone once said lust for comfort murders the passion of the soul.
d)      Throw caution to the air sometimes.
Make mistakes sometimes. Make sure you learn from them. In fact, people never make mistakes; they discover new ways of not doing something.  Do not beat yourself about your mistakes. They are valuable lessons that must leave you better than they found you.
e)       Let your character speak for itself.
Be a cool brand. Be original and real. Standout and dazzle the people you come across. Be so good that they can’t afford to ignore you. Ask yourself what you can do to beat  the competition.
