THIS IS WHAT LIFE MEANS

We are on the highway towards upcountry. We have been talking about politics for about three hours now and there is nothing else left to say on that topic. My uncle then says the following words while his eyes are still fixed on the road. “You know son, Life is like a road with so many signs, bends, port holes, bumps, black sports and even dead ends. On this road, we are traveling in a vehicle called rational mind, on this vehicle; we have to keep our eyes on three very important things

The windscreen
Through the windscreen, our eyes should be fixed on the road ahead of us. It represents the future, our aspirations, our dreams, our wishes, and desires. On the road that leads to our future, there are potholes, bends, bumps and black sports that call for our attention and concentration, the port holes are disappointments, the bends are challenges, the bumps are obstacles and the black sports are our uncertainties. These things if not dealt with properly they will derail us from our road

The side mirrors
These constantly remind us who are traveling alongside us, they are supposed to show us who our friends are, who can we trust, and who we should avoid. The side mirrors are a representation of our current life.

The rear mirror
The rear mirror is supposed to remind us where we are coming from. The road behind us is our past; it represents potholes, bumps and bends behind us which are supposed to be valuable lessons that will help us in future decision-making processes. It is only by understanding our past that we can be able to predict our future.”

My uncle’s words still linger in my mind. I hope you learned something from these wise words.
